 Ghanaians go to polls

 Ghanaians voted over the week­end to exercise their franchise on December 7, 2024.

A total of 12 candidates contested the presidential election.

After a tensed exercise, the Nation­al Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama, was adjudged winner after EC Chair­person declared him winner with a total of 6,328,397 votes representing 56.55% of the valid vote cast in the 2024 Ghana presidential election.

The hours after the declaration was full of partying as party fans hit the streets in carnival mood and celebrat­ed late into the evening.

The president-elect in his accep­tance speech thanked all Ghanaians for believing in the party to rescue the country.
