Ghanaians go to polls

Ghanaians voted over the weekend to exercise their franchise on December 7, 2024.
A total of 12 candidates contested the presidential election.
After a tensed exercise, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama, was adjudged winner after EC Chairperson declared him winner with a total of 6,328,397 votes representing 56.55% of the valid vote cast in the 2024 Ghana presidential election.
The hours after the declaration was full of partying as party fans hit the streets in carnival mood and celebrated late into the evening.
The president-elect in his acceptance speech thanked all Ghanaians for believing in the party to rescue the country.
