Kotoko, Faisal clash in Ashanti regional derby
Kumasi Asante Kotoko would renew their rivalry with King Faisal in an Ashanti regional derby when they clash in a matchday six game of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium tomorrow.
The Porcupine Warriors have been outstanding so far, winning four out of five games with a draw against Karela United last weekend.
Having beaten King Faisal once and a 1-1 stalemate last season, Coach Prosper Ogum and his charges will be eager to sustain their dominance over the ‘Insha Allah’ boys.
The latter are three points behind Kotoko at second place after three victories, a draw and one defeat; aiming to end the unbeaten run of the Porcupine Warriors.
At the Accra Sports Stadium today, underperforming Accra Lions will welcome Eleven Wonders.
The action continues today at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park in Dormaa, where spirited Aduana Stars host West Africa Soccer Academy (WAFA).
Elmina Sharks will lock horns with Karela United at the Ndoum Park in Elmina today.
Tomorrow at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, Ashantigold SC and Legon Cities will be keen to bounce back to winning ways after defeats to Real Tamale United (RTU) and Aduana Stars respectively last weekend.
Berekum Chelsea will have a tough hurdle to scale when they play host to impressive Real Tamale United at the Golden City Park tomorrow.

GFA consoles family of late Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has consoled family of late Asante Kotoko fan who was stabbed during their game with Nsoatreman yesterday.
On behalf of the GFA President and Executive Council, ExCo member Frederick Acheampong, alongside Ashanti RFA Vice Chairman Isaac Adu Agasper, visited the family of the late Asante Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong (aka Pooley), at Asawase, Kumasi.
The delegation extended the GFA’s condolences and support to his wife, Mrs. Gifty Frimpong, and their children during this difficult time.

Asante Kotoko condemns hooliganism in Ghana football
Kumasi Asante Kotoko football club has strongly condemned hooliganism, describing it as an unacceptable incidents.
The unfortunate voilence marred Kotoko’s Ghana Premier League Matchweek 19 fixture against Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Koramansah Park yesterday.
In a statement signed by the management of the team, they noted that “From the moment of our arrival at the stadium, our team was subjected to open hostility, including confrontations from sections of the home supporters. Despite these provocations, we remained committed to fair competition and proceeded with the game in the spirit of sportsmanship.”
“Unfortunately, the actions of the home crowd throughout the match were completely unacceptable. Missiles were thrown at our bench on multiple occasions, creating an unsafe environment for our players and officials,” he said.
According to them, “The situation escalated further when our Head of Media suffered a serious ear injury after being struck by an object. Additionally, in a shocking act of aggression,some supporters invaded the pitch and physically attacked our goalkeeper, Mohammed Camara, while also hurling missiles at him.”
