Kuami Eugene, Kofi Kinaata headline 13th African Games Akwaaba Night concert

The stage is set for one of the biggest musical nights of the year as the likes of Kuami Eugene, Kofi Kinaata, and Efya will thrill audiences on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
The concert dubbed, “13th African Akwaaba Night” is a precursor to the fun that will centre stage in Accra as Ghana prepares to host its first-ever African Games from March 8–23, 2024.
Sports and music are certainly intertwined, and patrons will witness the best of Ghanaian Highlife music on the eve of Ghana’s 67th Independence Day celebrations.
The music night does not only promise good music but also a rich display of Ghanaian culture with an array of fashion styles to be outdoored, as well as numerous cuisines.
Some of the top comedians in the country would also climb the stage to thrill audiences on a highly anticipated and memorable music night.

Europe Edition of ‘The Journey” show is impacting lives- Abena Ghana

Ghanaian actress and television personality, Cecilia Gyase Konamah, known in showbiz as Abena Ghana, has disclosed that her Europe edition of ‘The Journey Show’ is impacting lives.
The new edition, which focused on Ghanaians in Belgium, started airing on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:30 a.m on Adom TV.
The Journey Show throws the spotlight on the stories of people who have had great life experiences worth sharing to motivate others.
Speaking to The Spectator, Abena Ghana said, she has received a lot of feedback within a short time the new edition started airing.
Abena Ghana further noted that these people are either living abroad or in Ghana preparing to relocate abroad.
“They told us the programme has educated, inspired and motivated them to succeed in their journey abroad. Others were of the view that if they had seen this earlier, their situations abroad would have changed for the better.” she added.
The brain behind the programme, Abena Ghana added that they encouraged her to keep sharing such experiences to serve as a guide to people in their journey of life.
The stories in the Europe edition range from how hard it was for them to travel outside the country, how some of them got their passports as citizens in Belgium and the hustle they went through to achieve all they have now.

3rd Slit and Kaba Festival set for May 1

The third edition of the much-anticipated Slit and Kaba Festival, has been set for May 1 at the Legon City Mall in Accra.
Organised by Roots Africa, the festival is aimed at promoting Ghanaian culture through the traditional Slit and Kaba outfit made of colourful African prints and designs.
Speaking to The Spectator Agoro ahead of the event dubbed ‘Duku Edition,’ the Founder of Roots Africa, Mrs Deborah Kabutey-Djisah aka Manye Korngo, said they were looking forward to a bigger event this year.
“Come in your Slit and Kaba and a touch of scarf or ‘duku’ and let us celebrate our heritage,” she stated.
“Don’t miss the chance to have your brand on our flyers, make incredible sales and be part of an unforgettable experience,” she stressed.
The last event, she said was a great success with patrons from all across the country and had to get a bigger venue to accommodate more people as the interest grows.
