Ketu North pastors eulogize Dr. Bawumia for his decency, vision and excellence

The Clergy, in Ketu North Constituency of the Volta Region, have passed a vote of confidence in the character traits of the Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

As part of his tour of the Volta Region, Dr. Bawumia engaged stakeholders of Ketu North Constituency at Dzodze on Wednesday morning, and among those present were the Clergy from various towns in the Constituency.

Reading the statement on behalf of his colleagues, who were present, Pastor Solomon Paintsil, of Dzodze Assemblies of God, said the Clergy in Ketu North had made three observations about Dr. Bawumia, which they wanted to share.

“I am speaking on behalf of all the clergymen present. Your Excellency we the Clergy and the entire ecclesiastical body of Ketu North and its environs have made keen observations, followed you closely in your work as Vice President of this country and have made some observations,” Pastor Paintsil  said, on behalf of His colleagues.

“For the sake of time, we want to bring to your attention three of them. The ecclesiastical body and the Clergy men and all of us here  have observed that your personal lifestyle, which is characterised by discipline, is noticeable all the place. It is something we want to commend you for. You are one politician that cannot be tagged with the issue of corruption,” he added.

”Permit me to say that, it appears you’re corruption-free. It appears you have some injection that helps you or gives you immunity against corruption. When you go through the media or social media, you will never find anything that brings you into the arena of corruption. I applaud you Sir.”

“Observation number 2 is your visionary spirit. You’re one politician who is full of vision . With you, it is possible,” he continued.

“Because of you , Ghana can pride itself of certain facilities that other countries don’t dream of. Today, medications can be supplied through the use of drones. It doesn’t matter the distance, we are able to do it. It only comes from a man who can dream, a man who can see possibilities. The things that others don’t see, this man can see. We call you Mr. Digitalisation, bringing the impossible to be possible.”

The Pastor continued with the Ketu North Clergy’s  third observation, which praised Dr. Bawumia for his excellent work ethic.

“Observation number 3 is the execution of your dreams.  You are  a man of excellence. Anything you attempt to do, you do it with the excellence that it needs. If it will be done, it must be done well,” the Pastors said.

Having listed their observed  positive traits of Dr. Bawumia,  the Clergy assured him of their support, as he seeks to lead the country as President.

He said,”Your Excellency, these are few of the things we want to bring to your attention and to say that we are here for you and with you.”

“The presence of the Clergy here should tell you that the atmosphere is already cleared. We are expecting that should the dream come through and you become the next President of Ghana, we believe that greater things will happen,”he concluded.

Craze for x’mas shopping:  Crowded markets, low patronage

• Traders display their items

Vendors of food and other wares associated with the Christmas celebration have expressed surprise at the low patronage despite the increased number of visitors to some of the major markets across the capital.

Four days to the celebration(Christmas), the markets are filled with various products ranging from food, clothing, livestock and many other stuff, but according to the vendors, patrons are doing more ‘window’ shopping.

The Spectator on visits to some of the markets in the capital, notably the Odawna, Makola, Accra Central Business District, New Town and others made similar observations as shoppers crowd them but did little in terms of purchases.

The paper also observed that majority of vendors, originally selling other wares have switched to product related to the festive season.

What it means is that there are a lot more clothes, food and vegetables, livestock and poultry, toys, firecrackers, drinks of different types and many others on display.

The markets have also stretched to the pedestrian pavement, leaving very narrow spaces for commuters to move about freely.

That, in addition to a few of the female vendors dressed in coloured attires to reflect the occasion, has heightened the euphoria, leaving the low sales as the only headache for the vendors.

Speaking with this paper, they sounded very optimistic, believing that sales would improve in the last few days to the yuletide.

According to them, there was the opportunity to sell beyond Christmas as the New Year celebration offers similar opportunity to trade the same wares.

They urged patrons to throng the markets to shop since prices were quite moderate and products affordable for all.
