DJ Mensah started cursing and casting insinuations – Stonebwoy’s Manager
The manager for Stonebwoy, Chief Abiola has revealed what led to a stand-off between him and DJ Mensah at Tidal Rave over the weekend.
The La Palm Royal Beach Hotel was packed to the rafters as thousands of ravers stormed the place for this year’s Tidal Rave Festival.
The successful event had some glaring glitches during Stonebwoy’s performance at the event.
Stonebwoy had his closing performance interrupted when his last song, Apotheke was introduced by his DJ.
Suddenly the stage lights and the microphones went off at a point.
Explaining what led to the brouhaha on Hitz FM’s Showbiz review today, the Manager for Stonebwoy, Chief Abiola who was involved in the situation said, DJ Mensah stormed the stage and started cursing and casting insinuations right behind him.
According to Chief Stylz, he wasn’t happy with what DJ Mensah was saying so he confronted him (DJ Mensah), a situation which prompted the security to move up the stage to calm things, and eventually the lights and sound went off.
“I was like what was going on, all these heckling that we have kept long on the stage… Speak to the organisers, I didn’t come here to work for you. to speak to the organisers,” he said.
According to him, he believes somebody intentionally switched off the microphone, which was unprofessional.
“I was telling them that this is our last song, DJ Mensah even if there is any issue, first of all you do not have come to speak to me to cut our performance, I didn’t come to work for you, speak to the organisers, they are the ones putting us together,” he said.
Chief Stylz added “I think somebody passed a message to Angelo (Sarkodie’s Manager) down there that Mensah had issues, he didn’t know it was me and he rushed onto the stage to check what was going on, Stone had also finished at the same time so we met by the staircase. “
He said Aneglo informed Stonebwoy about the situation that had happened, “and in front of them I told Angelo Mensah was the one behind.”
“When we left the stage I sent Mensah a message, it is between me and him, we will sort it out, he is a friend and a brother, we are all working for artistes and looking for their interest, but we should find a way around it,” Chief Stylz added.
Chief Abiola concluded by blaming the coordination, leading to confusion at some point backstage.
