Up & RUNNIN6 includes early chart-topping global smashes

“Jejereje” feat. Amsterdam’s record producer Ginton, “Ekelebe” feat. Nigerian rap sensation ODUMODUBLVCK, “Pray For Me” feat. multi-Grammy winning Hatian rapper Wyclef Jean, and “YOUR BODY” all of which have accumulated millions of streams and dominated radio airplay on notable music networks.

The album also features the new track and video “Memories” featuring Ir Sais, as well as notable guest appearances from Legendary Nigerian singer Duncan Mighty, Blvk H3ro, Kaylan Arnold, Chi Ching Ching, Amaria BB, Spice, Jahmiel, 10Tikk and Larruso.

Speaking about the feature selection in a recent GRAMMY interview, Stonebwoy said,“I’m just paying attention to an inner quest of moving in the UP & RUNNIN6 direction, without necessarily looking at the technicalities. I am moving with a vibrational understanding, but I’m just realizing now what meaning I’m making on a technical level.”

UP & RUNNIN6 is a “welcome return to the BET award-winning and GRAMMY-nominated composer’s roots after much sonic exploration.” This full-length collection showcases his signature Afro-Caribbean sound while blending Afrobeat, Dancehall, Reggae, Highlife, Amapiano, and R&B across 13 tracks. This project highlights his versatility and commanding vocal presence, delving into themes of introspection, romance, spirituality, and empowerment–a collage of intensity, highs and lows and ebbs and flows–as evident in songs like “Psalm 23” “Betta Tin” “Shine” “Lovely Weather” “Geography” “Pray For Me” and “Fvck Up Summer.”

UP & RUNNIN6 is a bold and unapologetic flex of Stonebwoy’s versatility – the project not only reflects his artistic evolution, but also his commitment to pushing the boundaries of global music.

The album continues his rich legacy of ground-breaking albums, including ‘’Grade 1” ‘’Necessary Evil” the Billboard-rated “Epistles of Mama” the 2020 Reggae Ville Album of the Year, “Anloga Junction” and 2023’s commercially successful album “5TH DIMENSION” which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard World Reggae Album Chart.

Craze for x’mas shopping:  Crowded markets, low patronage

• Traders display their items

Vendors of food and other wares associated with the Christmas celebration have expressed surprise at the low patronage despite the increased number of visitors to some of the major markets across the capital.

Four days to the celebration(Christmas), the markets are filled with various products ranging from food, clothing, livestock and many other stuff, but according to the vendors, patrons are doing more ‘window’ shopping.

The Spectator on visits to some of the markets in the capital, notably the Odawna, Makola, Accra Central Business District, New Town and others made similar observations as shoppers crowd them but did little in terms of purchases.

The paper also observed that majority of vendors, originally selling other wares have switched to product related to the festive season.

What it means is that there are a lot more clothes, food and vegetables, livestock and poultry, toys, firecrackers, drinks of different types and many others on display.

The markets have also stretched to the pedestrian pavement, leaving very narrow spaces for commuters to move about freely.

That, in addition to a few of the female vendors dressed in coloured attires to reflect the occasion, has heightened the euphoria, leaving the low sales as the only headache for the vendors.

Speaking with this paper, they sounded very optimistic, believing that sales would improve in the last few days to the yuletide.

According to them, there was the opportunity to sell beyond Christmas as the New Year celebration offers similar opportunity to trade the same wares.

They urged patrons to throng the markets to shop since prices were quite moderate and products affordable for all.
